Nurturing Young Minds Through Specialized Montessori Education
At La Prima Montessori, our Infant, Toddler, and Early Childhood programs provide a carefully prepared environment that nurtures each child’s natural development from birth through age six. Guided by the principles of Maria Montessori, our classrooms support independence, concentration, and a love of learning through hands-on exploration.
At La Prima Montessori, classroom placement is guided by each child’s developmental readiness, not just age. We follow Dr. Montessori’s philosophy, honoring each child’s “sensitive periods” for learning during the vital early years.
Infants as young as 3 months old are cared for in a calm, responsive setting that fosters secure attachment and early movement; toddlers of age 18 months-36 months, engage in purposeful activities that build language, coordination, and self-care skills; and early childhood students of ages 3–6 years benefit from a rich, mixed-age classroom that integrates practical life, sensorial, language, math, and cultural studies. Across all levels, trained Montessori guides observe and respond to each child’s individual needs, creating a foundation for confidence, curiosity, and lifelong learning. We also offer after-school care for elementary students, providing a safe, engaging environment with time for homework support, enrichment activities, and social connection at the end of the school day.
Infant Program
Age Group: 3 Months–18 Months
Our infant room is a warm, homelike haven where your baby’s first experiences away from home are met with tenderness and attentive care. With a low teacher-to-child ratio of 1:4 and continuous staff support, each baby receives personalized attention.
We uphold a gentle “no-cry” policy, ensuring every child is comforted quickly and lovingly. Nursing mothers are always welcome, and we maintain a shoe-free, sanitized space for your little one’s health and safety.

Toddler Program
Age Group: 17 Months–36 Months
In the toddler stage, children are curious and rapidly developing. Our program supports this crucial time by guiding them through toilet training, independent feeding, self-care, and motor skill development in a loving and structured environment.
Through engaging routines and peer interaction, toddlers begin to build friendships, understand boundaries, and grow into early leaders. Foundational academics are introduced through play—letters, colors, shapes, numbers—and Spanish is gently introduced as a second language.

Early Childhood (Pre-K & Kindergarten)
Age Group: 2.5 Years–6 Years
Our early childhood classroom offers a three-year journey in a mixed-age setting, a core tenet of the Montessori method. Children progress through activities in practical life, sensorial, math, language, and cultural studies, growing into capable, confident learners.
By the final year (Kindergarten), children become mentors in the classroom—an experience that builds leadership, self-worth, and responsibility. Staying through the third year maximizes the Montessori experience, preparing students for a smooth transition to elementary school—often at an advanced academic level.
